I saw this lovely print from another blog i follow, and it just seemed so right to give to my Dave to celebrate our 2 years strong.  2 years is our cotton anniversary, not only is this printed on 100% cotton rag paper, the artist is Canadian.

We've had a lovely scout around our 'hood' today.  Off to the other side of the Lagoa, intense changes happening.  Loads of eucalyptus has been felled, revealing the golf resort of Bom Sucesso.  Suddenly our surroundings are put into perspective.

Before our little excursion around the Silver Coast, me and my Dave had the pleasure of having a virgin stomp up and down our new stairs.  Amazing, brilliant, fab x

Inbetween now and my last post we've moved house - again!  From Eduardo the first's to Eduardo the second's abode.  Although we had downsized to move out of our little home, moving this weekend filled me with dread.  Not only the packing but cleaning and lifting and saying goodbye to the comfort we had had for the winter.  However we now have loads more space including a separate office come spare bedroom, and a house filled with only our stuff.  We've moved over our plant collection too, which makes us feel at home.

We had a lovely hot, blue sky day on Sunday to celebrate our 2nd year of marriage.  Almost a re-run of our wedding day except all the UK crew were missing.  But the sun shone all day and of course the fizz flowed.

Our house is roofed and the boys are now rendering her inside and out.  And oh what another fabulous friday, the cement truck went passed earlier and we now have stairs leading down from the top terrace.  Well done Sergio, keep it going x

It seems to be warmer in Cornwall than here today, which must be a welcome change for the westerly folk.  Hooray, spring has sprung.

After a tense few days in Nadadouro we finally have a new roof.  The weather has been kind to us.  Only one big downpour, now sun sun sun.  We really thought all the demolition had been done, but all week more has been removed from our house!  The builders are drilling off all the old render, digging drains, cutting out more windows, and generally keeping themselves very busy.

We've made a breakthrough with the windows dilemma [retractable mosquito screens], another thing off the brain list.  Thanks Mel.  Also i'd like to thank Ana for your lovely comments about our blog.  Come to Nadadouro, you'll really like it.

We're fast approaching our second wedding anniversary.  I'm having the best time of my life here with my Dave and Jota [yes jota is J in portuguese, so the lad has a new nick name!]  Time is zipping by.

After a distressing week of looking at our roofless, windowless home, the builders are back kindly starting the reconstruction.  Let's hope the rain stays at bay.

We are in the process of now packing up here at Eduardo no 1's house so we can move next weekend to Eduardo no 2's house.

We spent a fair bit of time this week discussing and pricing windows.  Why is nothing just simple?  We know the sizes required, simple order them.  Not quite!!  Do we have double windows, sliding windows, tilt and turn windows, fixed mozzie screens or retractable ones? OMG my brain hurts.  I will let you know when the decision is made.  Wait till we get to the front door x

14° blue skies in Nadadouro  10° in Portreath

Yesterday the builders knocked through upstairs for the new windows and patio doors.  The also removed nearly every wall in the house.  Downstairs has now been insulated and double skinned and we now have a downstairs loo.  [well place for the loo x]  This morning the roof came off!!  Omg, there really isn't much of our little house left!!  Dave's kept all the old beams and wood for garden construction.  Namely a new funky hen house.  How exciting x
